I’ve just made this for supper with 3 venison sausages, home made bbq chicken stock from the summer and the innards from 2 large tomatoes that I used earlier in the week for stuffed tomatoes. This was a brilliant bowl full of tasty loveliness! I cannot tell you how much we enjoyed it while using up stuff from the freezer and making room for Christmas goodies. Thank you. We had a sprinkling of grated Parmesan but I think that a touch of gremolata would be even better. Thank you Catherine. 5 minutes prep and 5 minutes cooking and resting. Yum!
My local farmers market is so popular now that if you do your weekly shop there you have to get down by 8/8:30 before they all pour in on trains, buses or cars. No lazy Saturday mornings any more 🤨 But good for the stall holders and the town 😊
I’ve just done a freezer stocktake and organising for Christmas and found two large venison sausages which I think would be good for this recipe. Saved for supper early next week. When I was a teenager I worked on a market selling shoes, a greengrocers (very hard cold work) and Woolworths, all to earn enough pocket money for going out and a few 60s trendy outfits. We were so lucky that jobs were easy to come by for weekends and school holidays and it taught me the value of hard work.
I love that they're both working at the farmers market. Many children grow up going to their local market, and end up on stalls, learning how to get up early and as you say, the value of money, as well as so many other skills. Stall holders sometimes stand on layers of cardboard to stop the cold! I've still got all my thermals...

Yum. I just made a minestrone soup this weekend and topped it with fresh homemade pesto. It was so good.
