Catherine - thank you for sharing so many wonderful ideas - especially when you are recovering. And fantastic about your son singing- as a singer I know how much courage it takes to do that, so brilliantly well done him! Have a very happy Christmas and I hope your recovery continues well.

Hi, could you please explain what is EPC and MPC in your latest post. I'm sure it's obvious but I just can't work it out. Thank you.

Of course! I have those books and the Chicken one. I once put EVOO in a post and several people didn't get it. One lady said she actually uses it as well after I explained 😂

This post is so useful bringing everything together. Thank you for your generosity - it reminds us all that awful people are in the minority 😄 Adam should be really proud of himself. I bet he’ll remember the feeling for the rest of his life…

What an epic article! THANK YOU. Printer's not working. This deserves being copied out in a fresh notebook that I'm definitely going to be able to find when I next need it.

Thank you for your Christmas posts and for sharing. My pressure cooker has been working overtime cooking your recipes over the last few weeks! The recent post on Christmas Day items was a great reminder I'm going to print that one. The previous post on perfectionism was well timed, and a good reminder to chill out a bit when it comes to Christmas! My pressure cooker made light work of a turkey leg on christmas eve and i used the stock as a flavour bomb for the turkey crown gravy.

Wishing you a speedy recovery, with the promise of spring walks around the corner.

Happy New Year! Catherine, I hope your recovery is going well - it's a glorious day here today, so here's to the sunlight lifting your sprits. And thanks for the top tips and reminders for Christmas prep and pudding re-heating. I'd never parboiled parsnips and potatoes on Christmas eve before so that took a whole heap of work away. I'm in my usual 'resourceful January' mode, looking to make good use of everything, everywhere, and to re-deploy/donate/sell anything that doesn't currently pay it's way - which brings me to a question for anyone who has a Kuhn Rikon pressure cooker. Mine has a silicone gasket which is so blinking fragile as to be useless. This PC is on the brink of being eBay listed as I'm on my 4th, maybe 5th gasket. I complained to KR that they typically split as the closing mechanism seems to be too robust for the silicone - is it just me? I've tried to close it more gently, but even so (and I really don't think I'm being heavy-handed, I'm terrified to be anything other than super-careful) I've just binned another gasket with three tears in it. Any help, tips much appreciated! Thank you :)

I just want come back to this post to add a comment thanking you for this. The pressure cooker was working overtime for our "Christmas day" meal, especially since it was at my mother's so I only had my 3l instant pot instead of my 5l...

I think I must have referred back to this post about 10 times since first reading it.. Thank you for all your generous information and I hope your recovery is progressing x

Like others, I just want to come back here to say a huge thank you for this post. Despite best laid plans and all that, I didn't get round to even planning out Christmas dinner until 23 Dec. Sitting down with a few recipe books and a cup of tea is one of my favourite bits of Christmas prep, but everything just seemed extra busy this year. Your post appeared at the perfect time, and reminded me to add your book to the pile as well (I didn't really need reminding of that!).

I have a Ninja combination pressure cooker/air fryer, and for Christmas 2023 it got used just for air frying chipolatas. 2024 has been the year of learning about pressure cooking, and so this time I did the ham (delicious appley stock in the freezer ready for parsnip soup), duck stock, parboiled parsnips and potatoes, and red cabbage. The chipolatas were relegated to the oven.
